Time will go past 4 hours

We noticed when clocking out that it would not let you clock out over 4 hours. Us girls often work longer then 4 hours on a job. I called in - was told needed to clock out at 4 hours and then clock back in for the rest. Would love if I didn't have to do that. I understand lots of business owners would want their employees taking a break or lunch after 4 hours. But self employed individuals often work through lunch and longer then 4 hours in a stretch on a client.
