cart empties after logging in

If I add products to the shopping cart and then click the checkout button, I am asked to login. After logging in, the cart is emptied. This cannot be correct.

I tried with a couple, the alien glow in the dark and a pre-order on the home page. perhaps it is just my account?

[email protected] is the one I use for testing. It also does not seem to bring up shipping rates so maybe something is going on with that account?
