Email - Deleted Emails still "exist"

Howdy there,
In Email, I created an email, but I didn't like the template. So, I deleted it.
However, when I tried to create another email with the same title but different template, I get the message "An email with that name already exists."
Now, even though I can't see the deleted email in my list of created emails, it still apparently exists in the system.
