shipping charged to customer

Post by Lfrailey173 »

We are doing a analysis of shipping margin cost and need to pull our shipping charged to customer data or report...how do we do this? Say we want to pull shipping charged to customers for Sept 2021 or the last 6 months or 12 months, where in the console do you access/pull this data?

You will find shipping charges at the bottom of the Sales Stats report. You will find this from the main menu under "Reports" and then "Sales" and then "Sales Stats". You can set the desired date range with the calendar at the top right on the page.

Just ran the report and it's not pulling accurate numbers. I used last month 9/1/2021 thru 9/30/2021. It's showing a total number of orders for Sept as 424 orders. Our Monthly Report for Sept 2021 shows total orders as 422...so it's just off by 2 but still off.

Bigger questions:

1) A large percentage those 424 or 422 orders actually received free shipping as our website is configured to offer free shipping for orders over $75 so no shipping fee was charged however the report is showing 409 of the 424 where charged US shipping, 14 were international and 1 is free...it's completely inaccurate as the vast majority of the "409" actually paid $0 for shipping. Example orders: 60799, 60797, 60796, 60793, 60792, 60791, 60790, 60788, 60786, 60782, 60779, 60778, 60775, 60774, 60773, 60772, 60771, 60768, 60767, 60764, 60763, 60761, 60760....

2) The Gross ASP column:
a) the ASP price for US is shipping is off a tad, it should be $6.80...how do we fix this?

b) The ASP for international is incorrect...not all of those 14 orders were charged $44.82. Each international order is charged by weight and country zone so they the shipping cost paid by customer varies greatly. Eg orders: 60795, 60769, 60753, 60631, 60598, 60503, 60748, 60605, 60606, 60578, 60579, 60564.
*Also we only shipped 13 international orders in Sept 2021. Order #60841 was cancelled and refunded due to Australia suspension.

c) In the ASP column, what is the "total" $8.03 a total of?

3) The discount column: what are these? why is the "total" $0? If they are in fact discounts are the "gross" and "net" the same $ amount?

Order # 60799 shows a shipping price of $6.80. This is being totaled on the stats page under the gross actual. The order # 60799 also shows a discount applied and that amount is totaled on the stats page under the heading of "discounts".

ASP - stands for Average Sales Price - it is a calculated average.

Ok but we are not looking for an "average sales price". We are looking to pull the stats of the exact shipping charges charged to customers for a date range.

1) Can you explain where the $2775.65 in the "actual" column is coming from? 409 x $6.79 does not equal that.

2) So you are saying to figure out how many customers had an order over $75 and received the free shipping discount we should divide the "discount" field amount by the $6.80 they would have been discounted and that should equate to the number of orders that paid no shipping?
a) So $1904 / $6.80= 280....so 280 of the 409 US orders paid $0 shipping?

b) Then if we take the "gross" total $2775.65 - $1904 = $871.65/$6.80 which would mean 128.18 orders paid the $6.80 shipping. But 280 orders +128 orders = 408 orders (so technically missing data for one order as the report shows 409 total) How come the "net actual" field is not updating to the $871.65? It shows the exact same amount that's in the "gross actual" field?

3) How to we get the actual shipping paid by international customers and not an average? I just manually pulled the 14 international orders and the "actual" shipping paid does not equal the $627.48 on the sales report.....it's actually $594.66.

Just trying to get the report to accurately pull and compute the data so we can actually analyze the shipping we are charging to customers. Please help......

any update on this? We did a screenshare with Tommie last week and he was going to get back to us.....the sales report does not calculate accurate stats...the gross and net fields are the exact same stats....the discount field is not being taken into account on the net.
